Stellantis Confirms Data Breach, Customers' Personal Information Stolen

Stellantis, the automaker behind major brands like Chrysler, Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram, has confirmed a data breach involving customers' personal data.

In a statement issued Sunday, Stellantis explained that the breach occurred through a “third-party service provider’s platform” used for North American customer service operations. While the company confirmed that customer “contact information” was stolen, Stellantis spokesperson Kaileen Connelly declined to provide further details on the specific types of data compromised or how many customers were affected.

According to Bleeping Computer, the breach appears to be linked to a hack of Stellantis' Salesforce database, with the ShinyHunters hacking group taking credit for the attack. The hackers reportedly stole 18 million customer records from the compromised database.

Stellantis joins a growing list of companies affected by similar breaches, including major tech firms like Cloudflare, Google, and Proofpoint. The breach is part of a wider trend of data theft linked to vulnerabilities in Salesforce and related services, affecting companies like Salesloft and Drift, among others.
