Srinivasa Reddy Kandi: Composite secures $5.6M seed funding from NFDG for its cross-browser AI agent

Composite secures $5.6M seed funding from NFDG for its cross-browser AI agent:

AI browsers such as Perplexity’s Comet, Opera’s Neon, and The Browser Company’s Dia promise to boost productivity by streamlining everyday online tasks. But each of these tools is tied to a single browser. Composite, a new startup, is taking a broader approach: building an agent that works across any browser to help professionals automate their web-based workflows.

Founded earlier this year by Yang Fan Yun and Charlie Deane, Composite targets the repetitive “grunt work” that fills the browsers of workers in marketing, sales, recruiting, and even security engineering. Yun, a former Uber product manager, noticed that skilled professionals often spent hours on tedious browser tasks. “It prevents them from using their expertise to its fullest potential. I wanted to make automation simple and accessible for them,” he said.

Today, the company announced it has raised $5.6 million in seed funding led by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross’ venture firm NFDG, with additional backing from Menlo Ventures and Anthropic’s Anthology Fund.
Composite currently supports Mac and Windows, requiring only a lightweight browser extension for setup. Once installed, users can issue commands across their preferred tools and browsers. For example, it can:
Triage a Jira backlog, leave comments on high-priority bugs, and resolve duplicates.
Help recruiters search candidates across platforms and draft tailored outreach emails.
Allow security engineers to create vulnerability tickets directly from alerts.
Enable marketers to compile reports from multiple sources and generate concise insights.
Yun emphasized that, unlike other AI agents focused on personal tasks such as shopping or booking tickets, Composite is designed for professional use cases—helping knowledge workers save time and concentrate on higher-value work.
